Las Azoteas - New Townhome Project Proposed for North Hyde Park

Tue, September 29, 2015 4:33 PM | Brant Peterson (Administrator)

At this point, the project will be called Las Azoteas and will consist of 39 townhomes at 405 N Oregon Ave.

Renier and Michelle Gobea, principals of Gobea Capital, are partnering with Sight Real Estate to develop the townhomes. Plans for rezoning were filed 9/29/2015. The townhomes will be between 1,700 to 2,000 square feet, each with its own rooftop terrace.

The site is just over 1.3 acres, located on Oregon Ave between Fig and Gray. The property was previously home to the recently-burned-down New Salem Baptist Church.

Prices will begin in the low $300,000s. If all goes according to plan, construction will begin in mid-2016.

"As a for-sale project, the development represents an evolution in the revitalization of North Hyde Park. Several apartment developments are under way in the neighborhood, spurred by development in downtown and South Tampa. The developers describe it as boutique project that will "encourage home ownership and long-term investment in the neighborhood."

We think this is a great infill project that brings more density to the area, further validating retail growth in NHP. As the article states, this is the second new townhouse project in the area, further promoting home ownership and investment in the neighborhood.
